FAQs: Nebraska EVV Implementation

If implemented well, agencies and providers of all sizes and the service recipient benefit from:

  • Real-time verification of visits
  • Automated missed visit notification
  • Elimination of costs and risks of paper timesheets
  • Better control of service delivery
  • Elimination of payroll and billing data entry
  • Favorable billing and payroll outcomes
  • Audit readiness, less danger of having to repay billing
  • No-show alerts report missed visits in real time
  • Optional text alerts for managers to confirm visits started
  • Check awake calls for overnight shifts
  • Administrators and managers can watch or review visits as they take place
  • Variance to schedule, budget, and authorization reporting
  • Restricted clock-in if budget exceeded
  • Capture documentation
  • Voicemail messages to pass onto caregivers, such as service recipient updated
  • HR alerts regarding training, licenses, and more

For MVV and TVV within the State EVV Solution, clocking-in and clocking-out requires less than a minute of a caregiver’s time.

Reporting the visit is the responsibility of the caregiver. Once the phone regains power, the visit can be saved. In case the visit is unable to be accurately recorded, the agency administrator may fix the visit data within the provider portal. Please note, manually entered visits are subject to Department audit.

Service delivery should not be affected in such a situation. The agency can do a manual entry through the web portal or the software solution in use. EVV data will always remain encrypted in the lost device.

The EVV system is secured by a unique user ID and password. Agency administrators are responsible for generating unique login credentials for all the caregivers. It is the provider’s job to maintain the confidentiality of that information.

The technology used in EVV system to verify the caregiver’s location will only record locations at the start and end of the care delivery. For any other time, it does not record anything.

New-age home care software are built on technologies with offline functioning capabilities. As soon as the connectivity resumes, it syncs the data with the system.
