    Understanding Colorado’s Electronic Visit Verification

    • The Colorado Department of Health requires caregivers offering personal assistance through the HCBS to have a minimum of 20 hours of training.
    • The State of Colorado provides eligible caregivers with upto 480 hours of FML (Family Medical Leave) and up to 40 hours of state medical leave.
    • Caregivers in Colorado are entitled to an uninterrupted and duty-free meal period of at least 30-minutes. For every 4 hours of work, the employer must permit a 10-minute rest period.
    • Colorado wage law does not prohibit paid holidays and does not impose any restrictions on extra pay for working on holidays. There is no prohibition on severance pay.
